MEASUREMENT METHODS - ANNOTATIONS

The Clinical Measurement Ontology (CMO), Measurement Methods Ontology (MMO), and Experimental Condition Ontology (XCO) are currently being developed at the Rat Genome Database. For more information about these vocabularies please see Shimoyama et al. Three ontologies to define phenotype measurement data. Front Genet. 2012;3:87. Definition:Method of assessing the amount of one or more peptides, low molecular weight compounds composed of at least two amino acids joined by peptide linkages, in a solution using a technique in which the color of that solution, usually after a chemical or enzymatic reaction, is evaluated based on its ability to alter the transmission of light at specific wavelengths in the visible spectrum, that is, to alter the transmission of a specific color of light, using a spectrophotometer.
