Definition:A method performed outside the living body, for instance, on isolated tissue, which incorporates use of light microscopy and immunohistochemistry to produce magnified images. Immunohistochemistry is the microscopic localization of specific antigens in tissues by staining with antibodies labeled with fluorescent or pigmented material.
