Definition:Unintentional movement in one area of the face produced during intentional movement of another area of the face.
Comment:For instance, facial synkinesis may manifest as hypertonic contractures and synkinetic movements such as eye closure with volitional movement of the mouth or midfacial movement during volitional or reflexive eye closure.
