Comment:
The evolution of the ultrasonographic pattern of intraventricular hemorrhage (IVH) is that fresh blood clots appear as homogeneously echogenic areas, separate from the choroid plexus. Over the course of several weeks some blood clots develop a complex appearance, with an external echogenic lining and an internal sonolucent core.
