HUMAN PHENOTYPE - ANNOTATIONS

The Human Phenotype Ontology (HPO) is downloaded weekly from http://compbio.charite.de/hudson/job/hpo/lastStableBuild/artifact/ontology/release/hp.obo. The file downloaded is considered the "last stable build" available for the ontology. For more about the HPO, view their website at http://www.human-phenotype-ontology.org/.

Definition:Any anomaly of the progression of electrical impulses through the heart.
Comment:The conduction system of the heart initiates and coordinates the electric signal that causes the rhythmic and synchronized contractions of the atria and ventricles. In higher vertebrates, this system comprises the sinuatrial (SAN) and atrioventricular nodes (AVN) and the wiring of the ventricles. The latter comprises the atrioventricular bundle (AVB), the left and right bundle branches (BBs), and the peripheral ventricular conduction system (PVCS).
Synonyms:exact_synonym: Abnormality of cardiac conduction;   Abnormality of cardiac conduction system;   Cardiac conduction abnormalities;   Cardiac conduction defects;   Heart conduction disorder
