Definition:Reduced intensity of muscle tendon reflexes in jaw.
Comment:The jaw jerk is elicited by the examiner placing the tip of the index finger on a relaxed jaw, one that is about one-third open. One then taps briskly on the index finger with the other hand and notes the speed as the mandible is flexed.
