The Human Phenotype Ontology (HPO) is downloaded weekly from http://compbio.charite.de/hudson/job/hpo/lastStableBuild/artifact/ontology/release/hp.obo. The file downloaded is considered the "last stable build" available for the ontology. For more about the HPO, view their website at http://www.human-phenotype-ontology.org/.

Definition:A neutrophil abnormality.
Comment:Neutrophils are the most abundant leukocytes in blood and are considered to be the first line of defense during inflammation and infections. They are myeloid granulocytes and their names is derived from the fact that their cytoplasm contains granules that stain with acidic dye as well as granules that stain with basic dye. Their nuclei consist of three to five lobes connected by slender threads of chromatin. Mature neutrophils live for approximately one day.
Synonyms:exact_synonym: Abnormality of neutrophil;   Abnormality of polymorphonuclear neutrophils
