Definition:A process that is carried out at the cellular level which results in the assembly, arrangement of constituent parts, or disassembly of a gas vesicle. A gas vesicle is a hollow structure made of protein, which usually has the form of a cylindrical tube closed by conical end caps.
Comment:Note that although gas vesicles are commonly referred to as 'vesicles' or 'vacuoles' in the literature, they are not surrounded by a membrane.
