Definition:The process whose specific outcome is the progression of the myxococcal fruiting body over time, from its formation to the mature structure. The process begins when myxococci respond to a lack of nutrients in the environment and ends when the myxococcal fruiting body is a mature structure.
Comment:For example, as seen in myxobacterium. It is not intended to describe fruiting body development as is Dictyostelium.
