RGD DISEASE ONTOLOGY - ANNOTATIONS

RGD uses the Human Disease Ontology (DO, https://disease-ontology.org/) for disease curation across species. RGD automatically downloads each new release of the ontology on a monthly basis. Some additional terms which are required for RGD's curation purposes but are not currently covered in the official version of DO have been added. As corresponding terms are added to DO, these custom terms are retired and the DO terms substituted in existing annotations and subsequently used for curation.

The infection has_symptom headache, has_symptom back pain, has_symptom abdominal pain, has_symptom fever, has_symptom chills, has_symptom nausea, has_symptom blurred vision, has_symptom flushing of the face, has_symptom redness of the eyes, has_symptom rash, has_symptom low blood pressure, has_symptom acute shock, has_symptom vascular leakage, and has_symptom acute kidney failure, which can cause severe fluid overload.
