The Clinical Measurement Ontology (CMO), Measurement Methods Ontology (MMO), and Experimental Condition Ontology (XCO) are currently being developed at the Rat Genome Database. For more information about these vocabularies please see Shimoyama et al. Three ontologies to define phenotype measurement data. Front Genet. 2012;3:87. This eye movement consists of two components that serve to stabilize images on the retina: a slow, pursuit phase and a fast reflex or refixation phase. Measurement of the cumulative time spent visually tracking a moving object determines the extent of the reflex. The reflex is seen when an individual follows a moving object with their eyes, which then moves out of the field of vision at which point their eye moves back to the position it was in when it first saw the object.
