The number of individuals in a study population which display type 1 diabetes mellitus (T1DM) at a certain point in time compared to the total number of individuals in the study population, expressed as a percentage. T1DM is a form of diabetes mellitus which results from the autoimmune destruction of beta cells of the pancreatic islets of Langerhans.
