The Clinical Measurement Ontology (CMO), Measurement Methods Ontology (MMO), and Experimental Condition Ontology (XCO) are currently being developed at the Rat Genome Database. Definition:Any measurement to assess the morphological or physiological state of the alimentary/gastrointestinal tract, that is, the system of organs within multicellular animals that takes in food, digests it to extract energy and nutrients, and expels the remaining waste. The major functions of the alimentary/GI/digestive tract are ingestion, digestion, absorption, and defecation.
