The Bioinformatics Program, HMGC, Medical College of Wisconsin is seeking candidates to work on the rapidly expanding Rat Genome Database (RGD). The RGD project is charged with the organization, collection and distribution of all rat genetic and genomic information. The following positions are available:
Current Opening: Biomedical Informatics Programmer/Analyst
The Human and Molecular Genetics Center (http://www.mcw.edu/HMGC.htm) at the Medical College of Wisconsin is seeking a biomedical informatics programmer/analyst to work with multiple genetics, genomics and clinical projects including the Rat Genome Database (http://rgd.mcw.edu). The successful candidate will have experience in software development with demonstrated proficiency with current, relevant programming languages, particularly Java Experience working in a UNIX environment and good relational database experience (e.g. MySQL, Oracle) preferred. The successful candidate will have an understanding of biological systems and be familiar with basic molecular biology, genetics or medical data. Experience in software development for the integration of biological and medical ontologies and mining and analysis of associated data is an advantage.
