Fringe members

Fringe proteins are 3-beta-N-acetylglucosaminyltransferases that can elongate O-linked fucose residues by addition of N-acetylglucosamine. This process can modulate Notch-ligand interaction and Notch signaling. The members of fringe are listed with aliases in parentheses, full names and links to gene report pages:

Rfng (radical fringe gene homolog) – RFNG O-fucosylpeptide 3-beta-N-acetylglucosaminyltransferase
Mfng (manic fringe homolog) – MFNG O-fucosylpeptide 3-beta-N-acetylglucosaminyltransferase
Lfng (lunatic fringe homolog) – LFNG O-fucosylpeptide 3-beta-N-acetylglucosaminyltransferase
