Strain: SDR/Slc

Symbol: SDR/Slc
Strain: SDR
Substrain: Slc
Full Name: Spontaneous dwarf rat
RGD ID: 1302698
Citation ID: RRID:RRRC_00066
Ontology ID: RS:0000708
Alleles: Gh1sdr
Also Known As: NBRP Rat No: 0151
Type: mutant
Available Source: National BioResource Project for the Rat in Japan, Rat Resource and Research Center
Origination: Japan SLC, Inc
Description: The G to A substitution at the end of the 3rd intron of the rat Growth hormone gene was identified as the cause of the dwarf phenotype. This spontaneous mutation affected the 3' splice/acceptor site. Judging from this point mutation, one would predict an abnormal splicing and a 1-base deletion in the GH mRNA. Strain is from Japan SLC, Inc., Shizuoka, Japan.
Coat Color: Albino
Inbred Generations: F10
Last Known Status: Cryopreserved Embryo; Cryopreserved Sperm (as of 2017-05-04)
Research Usage Metabolism
