GENE - CHEMICAL INTERACTIONS REPORT

RGD ID: 2057
Species: Rattus norvegicus
RGD Object: Gene
Symbol: Adra2b
Name: adrenoceptor alpha 2B
Acc ID: CHEBI:7862
Term: oxymetazoline
Definition: A member of the class of phenols that is 2,4-dimethylphenol which is substituted at positions 3 and 6 by 4,5-dihydro-1H-imidazol-2-ylmethyl and tert-butyl groups, respectively. A direct-acting sympathomimetic with marked alpha-adrenergic activity, it is a vasoconstrictor that is used (generally as the hydrochloride salt) to relieve nasal congestion.
Chemical ID: MESH:D010109
Note: Use of the qualifier "multiple interactions" designates that the annotated interaction is comprised of a complex set of reactions and/or regulatory events, possibly involving additional chemicals and/or gene products.
