Description

The p38 MAPK pathway, also known as a stress activated protein kinase pathway (SAPK) responds to various cellular stresses and to inflammatory cytokines. P38 displays the characteristic three-tier core cascade MAPK architecture. The downstream and effector MAPK tier of p38 pathway are represented by Mapk14, Mapk11, Mapk12 and Mapk13 known as p38 alpha, beta, gamma and delta, respectively. They are activated by phosphorylation of threonine and tyrosine residues within the conserved TGY motif in
