Description

Axitinib is a selective inhibitor of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) signaling pathway used in the treatment of renal cell carcinoma and several other tumors. The drug belongs to a class of tyrosine kinase receptor inhibitors (TKI) designed to compete with ATP for binding into the ATP binding pocket of the receptor, thus inhibiting its kinase activity and the signaling events downstream of it.
