Definition:Either of two compounds (C12H30Br2N2 or C12H30Cl2N2) used in the treatment of hypertension. Hexamethonium is a depolarising ganglionic blocker, a nicotinic acetylcholine receptor antagonist that acts in autonomic ganglia by binding in or on the receptor but not the acetylcholine binding site itself.
