Definition:The pathway of bevacizumab-target interaction and of the biochemical or physiological responses to drug. The drug is an inhibitor of VEGF and is used in the treatment of several types of cancers such as for instance renal cell carcinoma. VEGF is a target of hypoxia inducible factor pathway, which is constitutively active in the condition. Genetic variations can result in changes in drug availability and can cause differences in the response of the organism to the drug.
