Definition:The directed, high-affinity movement of ferric (Fe(III) or Fe3+) ions into, out of or within a cell, or between cells, by means of some agent such as a transporter or pore. In high affinity transport the transporter is able to bind the solute even if it is only present at very low concentrations.
